You won't find anyone willing to pay either price you quoted these days for those cars.

And when I was 16, my parents provided me a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim to drive - when I went to college, I had nothing. Much poon was had with that little gem

So what is the going rate for a 01 SS with 26k miles in great condition then? Since you're the expert and know what everyone will pay for a car like that? CHIEF.

Lol our cars aren't worth that much because people are getting caught up on this BS low price thing! I see damn 06 v6 mustangs being sold on base for 17,500. With 40k miles lol no warranty, private party! I mean c'mon our cars are worth what people are willing to pay! You get a young guy in your car , and he has a good steady job that pays great .. And he wil buy it for 14-16k .. It's just people are getting tight with there cash.. But don't forget there are young guys out there with money willing to spend! It only takes one deployment to buy a car for 14-16 k .. So just find the right buyer !! And to OPs question , keep the SS .. It's a 01 so it has better heads, ls6 intake Mani , lower miles , I mean c'mon better car ..

$10-12k is all I would expect out of something like that, but your market is very limited even at those prices. People don't want something that is consistently viewed as a gas-guzzler (and these cars are) when prices at the pump are what they are currently.

Maybe the original poster will shed some light on the approximate amount that was paid for the vehicle in question.

You might want to go get some lunch or something...you sound grouchy.

Lol that depends on what you would consider a "gas guzzler" from what I have heard and from personal experience a stock A4 F-body will get 22-25MPG highway and 17-19 city. Look on any for sale websites and I promise you that a 01 SS with that low of miles is selling for MUCH more than $12k I can promise you that.

And I've gotten 32 highway only in my Camaro - still doesn't change the general public's perception that anything that comes with a V8 is a gas guzzler. I've gotten enough comments while filling up at a gas station to back that one up in my mind.

And there's a big difference between asking price and selling price - pretty sure the agreed upon sales price isn't listed on any of those sites.

Idk about state side , but out here I got offered 12k for my car , another offered 13,5k and one guy offered 14.5k .. And that's offers .. And I know they have the money to back it up because they have a goverment job lol .. So like I said find the right buyer .. I sold my last LT1 for 5,500 with 151k miles and it was stock . He was a co worker that just wanted a cool car not everyone cruises on car forums looking for the lowest prices! They look on eBay or dealership lots or penny saver .. They do exist lol ..

I agree, people think just because they hear a big cam they think my car gets 2-5 MPG which is completely false, but the fact is our cars are not gas guzzlers. And regardless of what the car actually sells for whether it be $12k or $15k to have two of those in your driveway at 16 is still crazy for me to think about. Then again I didn't grow up around any rich kids.

Damn...your car isnt a gas guzzler? Im a cam only TA m6 and I get like 14 in town. Never really had it on the highway though to see what it gets there.

oh and even if the cars arent worth $15k each thats still a problem that not too many 15 year olds have. I had a 79 Formula 400 that I had to put a motor in for my first car.

Pretty ballsy for a kid that doesn't even have a driver's license, but this is the internet after all. If that's what you paid, you probably paid too much. Or your parents.

Well idk how it is where yall are from, but for a 2000+ f-body with a v8 weather it be a ss,z28, ws6, t/a there running atleast 10k and thats 100+ miles. I bought my 02 T/A a4 with 93k for 12 and that was the cheapest around. most SS's where 14-15 a 35th anneversery are 20+, a T/A m6 your looking at 15+. Idk maybe its just being in a state where "gas guzzlers" rule the roads and muscle cars are a high wanted item. So you can get whatever you want for it if you have the time to hold out for it.

OP: How did you get both cars to pick from? was it a hey you buy one we will buy one then sell which everone you dont want to cover the cost?
