Quick Cam Question
Hey guys, a Ford man friend of mine asked me how much power an LS1 can make with stock heads and stock intake (assuming it's an LS6 intake) with just a cam swap (along with full exhaust). I tried searching it, with no luck. If you could just tell me real quick what is the max hp a stock LS1 can make with just a cam swap I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Depends on the cam. Some cams can make 30rwhp some can make over 50rwhp. There are a lot of variables to take into consideration.

Wow. that's impressive. He also asked me what is the most popular kind of cam the LS1 guys like to run. I told him I guess either magic stick or TSP or comp cams, would you say that's correct?

Like said above, alot depends on the cam, etc...
Maybe this will help,
My ride is an 02 so it comes with the ls6 intake, I have shorty headers and cutout for exhst. Flowmaster is there but that's it. lol, It sucks! as far as performance. I do have an SLP Lid but thats not really a mod IMO.
Pause the VIDEO At 1:12 of run time, and you'll see the number in red for numbers with a TSP 224/224 .581 114lsa mild Cam

I was at 394/361 with L/T, catted X and a MS3 cam. Now I am at 355/345 with the stock manifold/stock cats and comp 222/222 cam. I do miss the sound of the of the old set-up but I like the driving characteristics of the new set-up. Granted it doesn't have the top end but it has more useable low end and mid range tq.
