Default patriot stage 3 heads or cnc'd 243 heads

hey guys im new to the ls world lol. Just wondering I bought a friends 99z a month ago and I just bought the vindicator cam kit 598/608 and i have a ls6 intake with a ported tb and lt hookers. my ? is what would be better patriot stage 3 heads or ls6 243 that have been cnc'd by tea? Should i change my injectors if so what size do I need.

Both heads are a good choice. I'd suggest running 42 lb injectors and upgrading your fuel pump.

ok thanks for the reply man. thats what i thought anyways i can get the patriots fully dressed for 800 and the 243s fully dressed for 500

What kind of power are you looking to get? Do you plan on adding Nitros or a Force Induction?

maybe 4 to 450 to the wheels really for right now......... I do plan on boosting it when the time comes but that will be later down the road.

346 plus-1.

You will need a good tuner guy. It can be done. If you have a stock clutch you might be changing it out once you add the hp. Good luck!

yea i have a clutch already and my friend here has his own dyno shop that he tunes with aem he is taking lessons from a guy with underground. we will see what he can do with a ls motor tho

IIRC the PP stage III's are for 4.0" bore motors but I would rather have a TEA head anyway...

I second the TEA heads.too big of valve too close to the cylinder wall can effect air flow and not make great power.your cylinder bore is 3.898,pretty small.

The stage III heads do work well with 3.98 bore ( especially for boosted applications). You need the correct head gasket for it to work. With the right cam and gears these heads will pull more power in mid to upper rpms. Its the correct combo and setup that matters.
