02 Z28

One of those pampered cars like mentioned above an old guy/gal drove for 12,000 miles and traded into the credit union. Has 18,500 miles no issues to date. Wifes car.

99 T/A

defective speaker new ~4 miles
turn signal flasher failed ~20,000 miles
gauge cluster gauge sweep ~21,000 miles
idler pulley squeal ~22,000 miles
5 trips to dealer due to squealing brakes fixed @ 25,000 miles
power window motor failed 3 days after warranty expired, dealer took care of it. ~35,000 miles
factory battery took a dump and leaked acid one month after warranty expired.
blown speaker ~38,000 miles

While the car did have several trips to the dealer under warranty Dick Keffer Pontiac did an excellent job of taking care of me with loaners and fixing the problems. They were profession and fair when it came to mods. I would buy from them again.

95 Grand Am

One alternator, a couple of batteries blew head gasket @ 130,000 miles. Good excuse to get the Z.

91 RS

Had fan shroud trimmed due to scrapping noise at 12,500 miles. No other issues for 5 1/2 years until alternator died at ~84,000 miles. Water pump @ 130,000 miles, another alternatore ~145,500 miles, mega tune up all ignition parts @ 165,000 miles, starter ~168,000 miles, new alterntor 172,000 miles, 203,000 miles fuel pump, 264,000 mega tune up (this week), several cooling fans as the fan is straight wired otherwise the usual stuff. Most problem free car I've ever owned. Can't wait until I get to put the orginal 305 & 700R4 to rest with the LS1/A4 swap....but that's still a few months away.

Well at 50K my driver’s side power window went out. I am pretty good at fixing things so I took it apart & got it working again. I found there was a poor connection on the rear part of the motor where the brushes set a weld broke lose. So I soldered it back & added some solder braid. It worked great! But now 62K miles and its doing it again. It still works but it is intermittent & will only go a 1/4 way down on its own unless I bump the door panel. I think I am going to just buy one eventually.
Drivers side visor fell on me at 55K.
That’s about it besides regular maintanance like changing the belts, plugs etc.

I have 81k and have done rear-end (excuse for gears) window motors are still good, and the brakes are getting to be a little noisy when first applied, other than that it's great!!! my 95 Z on the other handis whole different story - 4 tranny's, 3 sets of head gaskets, 2 window motors, painted twice by dealer, t-tops leaked, dash cracked, rear end blew. Swore off of GM after that!! Guess I kinda still have a soft spot for 'em with my TA.

OMG Gloveperson, I didn't even notice (old thread) until I got to your post. lol

Anyhow I've got an '02 (oboviosly) and I just noticed @ 9k a freakin' "clunk" like sound when I hit certain bumps coming from the front end. Almost like a broken shock or something. Anybody else experince this???? I dont see anything wrong.

Edit:OK just thought I'd update: 9000 miles.........Broken Drivers Side front shock, Pinion seal (this will be on-going I'm sure), bushings on rear sway arm. All fixed under warranty. Oh yeah, minor flaking of chrome on wheels. Not enough to send back for warranty yet (I don't get that part) but........a few more car washes with the wand getting at it, up close to make sure that I get all of the dirt off of course and a couple of new wheels for me.
