Default SLP 160 degree thermostat

Is it worth installing this on my car since I can change that in the tune

Personally I don't think so, especially since you can alter that in a tune, just like you mentioned. I have my stock thermostat on mine with an LT1 radiator and it never overheats or gets too hot even in hot weather stuck in traffic.

Fan settings need to be changed if you replace the t-stat. Don't install unless you can change the tune.

Not worth it, these engines run best at 195 ish. You need to get it hot enough to get all the condensation out of the engine.

A lot of people swear by these, but in my personal opinion, unless your running high compression and having trouble keeping it cool with the tune and fan control, it's not worth it. Even then I would only install one as a last resort.

I had a 160 (Hype-tech) for a while, saw nothing from it,
idle cleaned up some when I went back to stock. There
is no good reason for the 160 at stock compression and
93 octane.

If you're having cooling problems, cleaning the condenser
& rad is a good idea. Setting fans sane is, too.
