Default 400 rwhp with bolt-ons?

2000 ws6, m6. So far have slp lid w/ k&n filter, BBK intake manifold w/ 85mm tb, borla cat back, monster stage 3 clutch w/ billet flywheel and getting ready to do TSP 1 7/8 headers with catted y-pipe, UDP and mail order tune by Frost. Heard not so good things about after market MAF so i decided to keep stock untill i learn more. Everything else is stock. Will i get there?
Soon as my pocket allows me too, i plan on doing ported ls6 heads with choice of cam from TSP. I am not biased against TSP. I just hear pretty good things about them and they offer good deals.

You get there with maybe cam only but with just bolt ons I say about 340rwhp to 360rwhp M6, and yes TSP has a great reputation about their deals and customer service.Stick with the stock MAF, I descreened mine but that was just me, you should be good though.

Not achievable with regular bolt ons, 400 flywheel hp, maybe.

Yeah... 400 ain't happening with a LS1. At least with just boltons.

With a cam it's definately possible though.

Bolt on a nitrous kit. Mine did 430 rwhp with stock internals on a nos brand ls1 100 dry shot kit.

to perform just a cam swap keeping the stock heads, what supporting mods are needed? would better valve springs do the job sufficiently or would more supporting parts be needed? On that note, suppose a swap of cam and ported heads, what mods would be needed for that? are the stock throttle body and intake ok for a heads/cam swap?

I really don't suggest a H/C/I or any variation of the such without doing full bolt-ons first. It doesn't make sense to spend that much money and skip out on bolt-ons (at least do a full exhaust).

And 400RWHP from bolt-ons alone probably isn't gonna happen without adjusting the readout in your favor, and that's just retarded. 340-360 is probably where you'll sit without a cam.

you will be 400 at the crank with full bolt-ons. Need full bolt-ons, a aftermarket cam and a good tune to maybe see 400rwhp.

Did 350hp/370tq at the wheels with pretty much full boltons minus a h/c (full exhaust, 25% ud, p&p TB, lid, ls6 intake, ect) and a tune. With a med. cam you should do right around 400 rwhp, 430-450 with heads

Add a 232+ cam with full bolt ons and you got it.

Off question, but it kind of relates. OP said he's getting a canned tune ordered from Frost. Are the gains a lot more minimal for a canned tune with those mods rather than taking it to a dyno shop? How much is the difference going to be?

I will say that there is probably no mail order or pre-programmed tune out there that will be quite as good as an actual live dyno tune, for any kind of application. But that doesn't make the dyno tune worth it 100% of the time, it all depends on what you plan to do with the car, if that makes any sense.

canned tune has to have some margin for error, so they are generally a tad on the safe side, not to say they cant make great power, but generally dyno tune will make more power. your question cant really be answered because it depends on the competence of the tuner vs the "compatibility" of the canned tune.

After doing the typical bolt-ons on my M-6 99T/A, I get 425HP at the flywheel and 350-360rwhp. Add onto that a 150 wet shot and you have more than 400rwhp. Nitrous is by far the most bang for the buck. And I use HPTuners to dial in the tune. I was amazed with how much a difference the Weiand LS6 intake made on the tune and how much adjustment to the VE table needed. After seeing that, I can't see how a canned tune would be worth the money. Each add on effects each car and motor differently. Thats why tuning programs are worth the money and time you need to put into them. IMHO.

don't waste your time with a z06 cam, there are several cams that will pass emmiss and make more power.

i made over 400rwhp with a cam n bolt ons , just slap the biggest damn cam in there and build the car around the cam, then hope you find a good tuner lol, no dont do that at all, a decent cam, good tune ,with bolt ons will get ya pretty close to 400, never shoot for a number ,shoot for a great running fast car, if your worried about emissions do a ls6 cam with a d1 procharger kit, after awhile your going to want boost sooner or later why dont you save some money and head that way now lol
