Some nice totals...Many to make a grown man cry...But I doubt any of you would trade it back to go to stock again.

I spent close to $15,000 on my Mustang GT...and I could barely keep ahead of a lightly modded (as in few boltons) SS. Well, that died, so I bought a Z06 instead.

I've got a total of the following:

'04 GM/Sachs Shocks $330
ZipTies $1
Remove antenna Free
Exedy Stage I Hyper Perf Single Disc Clutch (On its way as of today ) $1100

More to come shortly...Bought the clutch to combat heads/cam/headers in the next two months (wallet willing, anyways). I imagine my bill's going to climb rapidly.

Total thus far...$1431...and CLIMBING.

Here's a low-cost setup for newbies (since I am a newbie anyways):

Performance:

SLP Lid
SLP Smooth Bellows
SLP MAF
K&N filter
SLP longtubes
SLP high-flow cats
SLP Loudmouth
NOS 5177 kit
Thunder Racing 224/227 cam
+ tune
+install
Total approx: $3,500 - but hey, it's good for 500rwhp - I'm not complaining.

Appearance:

!grille
1.5" drop
20% tint
custom exhaust tip setup
Autometer triple pillar with Autometer gauges ($900)
painted silver interior
billet aluminum pedals
polished aluminum "HURST" T-handle

Total approx: $1,400

Grand total: about $5,000

And here she is:

Ain't that the truth. I have a Hotcam, Hooker Coated Shorties, March Underdrive Pulley, new GM gaskets for everything, just sitting in my closet. Not to mention the subframes in the mail...and the only part I have yet to buy is the Hooker catback I want. But whats on the car?

An SLP lid and Blowmaster weld-in muffler. But hey...when I get it all in at the same time it is going to net me an SOTP improvement!

98 Z w/36k miles $13000 (bought 5/02)

bought new...
Lid, Holley filter, and 85mm MAF $275
Magnaflow (muffler only) $100 + $30 to install
275/40/17 Nitto 555's - $680 (not really a mod...needed tires anyway)
SLP BowTie Grill - $180 (birthday present)

bought used...
3.73 (for 2-series carrier) - $75
HPP3 - $125
17x9.5 ZR1/SS rims - $400
Vig2800 - $500

Looking back on things, I probably could have skipped the MAF and just bought a used lid and saved some money. I got it because a sponsor had a package deal. I still think it was a good deal, but I don't think the MAF does much for me. I've saved a lot of money on installs though getting my dad to help with the gears and torque converter install. With some DR's, I should have a 12 second car that is easy to drive and very reliable. The converter was my best mod by far. My boss called my car a f-ing roller coaster.

MACs w/Y 575
Lid 100
K&N 50
FTRA 155
H/C 2000
4.10 Gears 185
12 Bolt 2550
LS6 Int. 390
ASP 225
Nittos 290

So much for ever wanting to trade the LS1 in.....no way. I'm glad I hate Fords.

Bleh! All of you with the face should be ashamed. Our cars are a labor of love. In all honestly you work for only 2 reasons in your life: Because you enjoy your job, and/or to produce money that will make you enjoy your life and be happy (be it your hobby, supporting your family, etc).

Doesn't matter if you've spent 4x the price of your car, on your car. If you can walk into your garage or driveway, start your car, smile, and have a good day... it's worth any amount of money you can ever spend on it.

So as long as you get out of your car with a smile on your face, continue to slash those paychecks in half as soon as they're deposited! Make us, and especially yourself, proud!
