There's a blue '03 around here that I think just has exhaust on it, and my buddy, IndigoSS, had a 98' A4 that was completely stock under the hood except for a NX 150 and he outran that '03 by several cars. I've never personally had the chance to hand a cocky cobra driver his ***.

Saying it "doesn't take much for an LS1 to outrun" an '03 Cobra is a bit of a stretch.

And no, it doesn't take much for an LS1 to outrun an '03 Cobra. I've got about:
SLP Lid / bellows: $150
cam: $400
N2O: $350
LT's: $400 (got them used)
SLP LM: $350
+ installation
So for me, it took $1650 to outrun an '03 Cobra with $5,000 done to it.
Take off the cam, N20, free mods and I could hang with my buddy's stock '03 for $900. And shoot, almost all of the LS1's on here have a lid, bellows, and catback. All they need are headers to stick to a stock '03 Cobra. All I'm saying is that it doesn't take a big power adder to hang with a stock '03, and if that's the case, a big power adder might handle a highly modded '03.
Don't get me wrong - '03's are nice, and if I would have waited a little longer, I might have a triple black '03 Cobra convertible right now instead of an SS. I think they're very mean, but even your 600-horse '03 isn't "untouchable" by any means. 600 is impressive, but don't think you're in a class all by yourself.

You have a very nice car, but to me, the '03 Cobra "dominance" is a lot of hype. I wouldn't be afraid in the least to run you. I already know I can outrun an '03 Cobra making more peak power than I do, so 600rwhp isn't going to scare me that much. And if you beat me, you beat me. It would be awful close, though and you'd have more trouble than you think you would. You make more peak power than I do, but I probably make more torque than you do.

I never said I was in a class by myself. You, however, act like you are when you clearly aren't. You run 10's yet? I would hope so.

I am not a Ford man by any stretch but I do know where my place in the food chain is right now. I will be moving up shortly to the Cobra table, they are fast as s--t for sure, but I have expericed the cobra's bite a couple of times and bitten back myself (one older body and one newer), can't hang with 03 though, drivers make all the difference! Truth be told if I didn't have my Z28 I would have probably gotten a nice blue 03 snake, the potential of these cars are awesome, but by the same respect the LS1 is not a wimpy motor by any stretch of the imagination I have seen LS1's with just bolt on's cook snake for dinner, just have goal for your car and follow it though, bolt on's will only get you so far, after that time to get more serious with cams, heads even juice, but most of all plan your suspension spinning tires= lost time and mph. Sorry I'm ranting it's been a long day
