Asking which one to get is like asking if I like cassette players or ipods.

Smile

LS motors are more efficient.

LTs can perform well too. shop around for prices but youll find LSs are very popular for a reason.

If you have a badass lt1 I would imagine it's pretty awesome being the underdog and suprising people on a regular basis. But besides that, LS1.

You asked: Which is better for daily driving? Answer: LS1. Reason? No optispark. End of discussion.
M6 is better for gas mileage.

I didn't mean to be so blunt about it but I wanted to paint a good picture of difference between both platforms.

Its pretty rare to find a good condition Lt1, unless you are looking to learn & rebuild.

Ls1's are much easier.

3.73s are not worth getting with a M6. I have them in mine and can't tell a difference over stock (3.42) Go for 4.10s but you'll sacrifice 2 or 3 mpg. A stock LS6 cam is good for daily driving. Pretty much anything bigger isn't gonna behave too well in traffic or school parking lots etc, etc, etc. Seriously though the LT1/LS1 question is more like sleeping with Judge Judy or Katy Perry

Back when LS1s where more expensive, the lt1 had a valid argument of it being pretty good for the money. But i think thats pretty much over now, since mostly everywhere, you can get an ls1 for just a little more than an lt1. Also, since the lsx has many different platforms compared to the 2 main ones from the ltx, your gonna have more aftermarket parts for the ls1 than the lt1 for about the same price.

Id go ls1 without a doubt.

the ls engine has a better valve angle heads with symmetric ports for way better flow.the m6 is better for mpg.it usually comes with a 3.42 gear.check out Texas Speed for exhaust and engine parts .a tr224 or a 228r tsp cam are good DD cams.you will need a cam kit .

sorry but that thred got closed for some reason but i think the set up i would run with a ls1 would be a ls6 cam and springs or a 224 lsa with a flowmaster cat back with a pacesetter y pipe with pacesetter long tubes and 3.42s with a m6 also a ls6 intake manifoild for a posibility http

This.

Also ignore the guy in the last thread who said going to anything over a stock LS6 cam wouldn't be good for daily driving. He's obviously retarded.
