block number help?

Question block number help?

ok trying to find out if my motor is original or not. passenger head says 241, front drivers side of block says gm 12561584 its an 01 trans am. any one?

Best way to check is to get the serial number. It's on one of the bellhousing ears facing the side of the car. Can't remember if it's on the starter or oil filter side. It should match the last some odd digits of your Vin number.

It should be on the drivers side bellhousing ear of the block.

The block number should be on the back side of the block on the driver side just below the head.
