Hooker catback and 3 inch cutout if you have headers. LOVE my setup. I didnt have TSP true duals but then I cammed my car and it was ridiculously rowdy so I went the catback route and went with a hooker. Love it lol

I'm like my Hooker Catback too! Its about the quietest catback there is with headers. If your looking for something a little louder go to www.ls1sounds.com site and check it out.

I dont have my headers yet. I figure that will be a few more months. But i want an exhaust that has a good medium sounding growl. Something that sounds mean and louder at higher rpms but not tooooooo loud. But for sure louder than stock

The hooker DEFINITELY sounds mean at WOT and is quiet when cruising. Its perfect.

I have the hooker catback. It was very quiet until I took the cats off and its still pretty quit but it sounds better. i do love the sound, but ive had it for about 10k miles now and it rattles very annoyingly at idle. i took the muffler off and there is something loose inside of it. and you should be able to install it with some help if you have general knowledge on installing parts. the hardest part for me was cutting off the stock exhaust! lol

Ive spent the last few hours basically reading everything i can about the hooker cat backs. Im sold. I want it loud at high rpms without the rasp, the quad tips, good sounding growl but not toooo loud at idle and lower rpms. However id love if someone could describe how the mid rpms sound (2000-4000ish) and again is it at least louder than stock at idle? I would like it to be at least louder than the stock idle. Thanks guys love the advice and suggestions

I agree with 1999blueTA! Idk where his post went but i just seen it.

Id skip the catback and look into longtubes with a y pipe and cutout. Texas speed's 1 7/8 headers and never look back.

The longtubes are for sure on my list of things to do. The tsp headers and ypipe are next on my list in fact. Dont intend to do to much to the car though. Headers, lid, ory, exhaust, 3.73 gears and thats probably it. Im just sick of the stock exhaust. In about a year all of those things should be done

I think the headers would make the stock exhaust sound a little better or you could just have a shop cut the muffler off and replace with a magnaflow or something. It'd be a little cheaper, but if your wanting a catback you could look into borla or gmmg.

Like someone mentioned above, just get a muffler (around $100 for the Magnaflow) and use it with the stock pipes. The stock pipes supposedly aren't all that restrictive and when/if you go to longtubes, you can still use the muffler and buy the I-pipe and overaxle separately.

It's possible that you could chose a catback that you like so much that you don't feel like you need headers to make it sound good. See SLP's Powerflo for an aggressive tone that's not too raspy.
