Question correct sway bar urethane end link tightening ?????

I just bought a complete Energy suspension urethane sway bar bushing set for the ffront and back and everything is already together. The question is what's the BEST procedure for tightening the end links.? I've read 16 ft lbs but since I'm squeezing urethane bushings together does this make any sense)? At this torque I can move the sway bar end up and down even with the full weight of the car on the bars ( I've done the front bar as well). I'm curious as to how you guys tighten em down. I basically cranked em down until the end link bushings started to collapse a bit. But I know I've applied waaay more than 16 ft lbs. Any ideas?

I crank them down with a 3\8" impact and call it good.
when they make a nice bulge you are there.
