Default Possible transmission install damage

Hi! I have mated my 6l80e transmission to my 5.3 and fear I may have damaged the transmission pump. While wrestling the heavy transmission onto the dowel pins and kinda gently tightening the bell housing bolts with a wart het I observed a small gap between the two. While tightening bolt I heard an audible crunch-like sound. I immediately stopped, separated the two and sure enough the convertor wasn't completely seated. Needed one more click. How do I assess for damage or should I just haul it to a tranny shop for inspection? Any help much appreciated, thanks!

If you used bolts to draw the case to the block check the case around the mounting bolts and dowel pin. Make sure you didn't crack the case or block.

Did you pull the converter out and look at it?
Did you try to look past the pump seal?
The pump is built in to the aluminum bell housing
so its a good chance it's damaged.
