Default New to the ls1

What are some cheap mods for the strip using mine as a dd but want to start taking it to the track this summer.

What is the main purpose of the car, and what are you looking at for a budget?

Do all the bolt ons, maybe a small comp cam, and a dyno tune would make an awesome daily driver / weekend racer car. I basically have that now, still working on it, is addicting and money is my only weakness!

is the car stick or auto? what mods does it have already? im assuming its a 02 ss from your name? need more info.

Well I guess I could have already said what it had already lol. It has stock suspension doesn't even have sub frame connectors, but it has a yank 3600 stall, headers, and a Texas speed cam v-2 or something like that I believe. The guy said he didn't know anything about the heads on the car though so not sure about that. This passed weekend I put a nick Williams tb and fast 92 intake on it though. So really I just need to know suspension stuff that should be changed out. I'm coming from a new 5.0 into these cars so there a little different.

get a dyno tune since you added a fast 92/92 combo on it....

Most guys will tell you shocks for suspension. Our factory decarbons are pretty garbage for handling, and combo'ed with some good springs and tires these cars can carve up the corners.

I'm saving for some Koni Yellows now, which are almost always considered the best bang-for-buck shocks in F-Bodies.

Of course, better tires are always amazing so don't neglect those.

Yes definitely get a tune since you did the new intake. So how do you like the LS1 compared to the 5.0. Why the change?

Well I can't really make the comparison yet. My 5.0 has a whipple and other **** so it's more fun on the street to me, the ls car is better then the mustang at actually getting the power to the ground though. But I found this camaro for a good deal so I couldn't pass it up.

I had the car tuned by vengeance when I first got it because it surged real bad. Will it be ok to drive with the bigger intake and tb for a little while.

It is it made 540 on 8psi if it was an auto, I could run 10s but the fastest I've gone in it so far is 11.45@125. Now it's for sale and I'm keeping the camaro though
