Default What cam???

I'm about to purchased a cam but I have no idea on what to go with. My car is not a daily driver but I do enjoy driving it to work from time to time. I have an 01 ss with 50k on the engine. Mods I have are k&n intake fast 92/92 with long tube headers and a 3 inch Y pipe with slp loud mouth. I'm leaning toward maybe ms3 or ms4 but I have no idea if I should look in to something else.

Well are you picky about street manners? I have the TSP 228R with PRC 2.5 5.3 heads and its the biggest cam I'd want to drive. Plus it was tuned by the best tuner in the area (Slowhawk) and still. The MS cams would really annoy me. Also I have the loudmouth 1 and once that cam goes in get ready for it to be insanely loud.

What do you want to acheive with a cam? Street? Strip? Both? Or you just want a cam to have a cammed car that sounds nasty? (nothing wrong with that)

Its more of a street/weekend warrior car I never took it to the track or really care about going. Also don't plan on doing any major work besides a cam to the car unless I blow it up. But you never know once I have the cam I might want more but as of now I only want a cam. Oh yea also its a 6 speed with 4.10 gears.

if you want a radical that needs a 4000+rpm stall ,look at a T-rek or a big EPS cam.depending on your gears and tranny set up a torquer v3 makes good power.the more radical cams need the springs tested or replaced every 20k.a torquer v2 is easier on springs.

My roommate just got a 230/238 cam similar to mine and with minimal effort it drives like stock. I am a novice tuner and it took me all of 2 tries to get the idle perfect.

Just to throw something different in the mix, take a look at a G5X3 or G5X2. I am running a X3 with a 114 lsa and am happy with the manners of it.

I would go with something like the TSP 228 or TSP Torquer 2 232/234. Those would be as big of a cam i would run in a daily driver, fun street car.
