Just bought a 99 SS, what to do 1st
Hey guys, I just bought a 99 SS 6 spd, 115k It looks to be stock. I have serviced the rear end, (gear oil & pinion seal) replaced both idler & tensioner pullies, fuel filter, serp belt. The antifreeze is fine, oil change soon. It has a Volant Air intake and a Hooker cat back sys. That do I need to do first for a tune up? Since I dont know what type of maintainance life the car has had, Id like to give it a fresh start. What are things I need to look for? This is just going to be a driver, fun street cruiser.
Thanks!
Jason

Agreed^
First start off with a good oil change, new filters, and some good plugs with new wires unless the current ones are good. After that start modding the camaro Get some 1 7/8s long tube headers and a ORY with a exhaust of your choice, gears, cold air intake such as a Chris1313 or a SLP lid and a tune.

Where are my manners! Here's pics. I trust AC delco, but is there other brands that are better? I've ran Taylor wires on my older hot rods, and they were really good. I changed the fuel filter today. The clutch seems very tight and good. no slipping. There is a steel braded line coming from the clutch slave cylinder looks like, I was told you can bleed the clutch that way?!

Check out MSD wires and NGK TR55 plugs for it, ws6store.com has a great bundle deal on them.

Ok gotcha. Just ordered the MSD & NGK bundle, that was a smokin deal! Ebay wants $150! Thanks for the heads up.
OK, so any particular brand of headers? not the cheapo but not the most expensive...
I'd do an LS6 intake, headers, cam, 4:11 gears, and a tune. What size and brand cam would you suggest for just those mods?

Just to give a heads up did tsp 1 3/4 and ory in my 2000 Z and the biggest pita was driver side header.. came down to oil drain plug stopping header from dropping in! Pass. Side was no problem

I put bbk headers on my friends 01t/a. They were really easy. Only problem he's had with them is the y pipe that comes with them, his slp loud mouth cat back won't slip over it.

Will do! I'm working out of state until October, hopefully I'll have some cash to play with it when I get home. Here's my other Camaro..
