I have a 94 Camaro originally an LT1 car. I bought it a while back with no motor or trans. I have been trying to do some research on budget engine builds. I have considered the 5.3 and 6.0 iron blocks...seems like more of a hassle. My original plan was an LS1 with a 6 speed. I plan on driving this car on the street mostly, but I'm looking for 450 horses or more. Some ideas would be greatly appreciated.
And no I'm not going to sell it and buy an LS car if that is your suggestion.

can find the 6.0 for alot cheaper than the LS1 engine..

plus you are already starting with a higher HP engine to begin with.

For that power goal I would find the cheapest LQ4 thats not blown, bore and stroke it to a 402-408ci and throw a good set of 243/799 heads and shoot for 11:1 compression.

Iron 6.0, stock jy motor, change cam/lifters/springs, add headers, exhaust, and tune, and go have a lot of fun on the cheap.

You should throw a 572 in there with a supercharger on top, but I don't expect you to afford it. It would be more practical to get a LS2 or LS3.
