Default Rear LCAs keep coming loose -*fixed /loose struts/worn out hub or?

Hi all,

My rear lca's keep coming loose. These are aftermarket UMI non adjustable. At least, that's what I'm assuming it is as there is a distinct "ca-clunk" sound that seems to be coming from the driver's side rear. My exhaust is welded and doesn't rattle around.

Possibly relating to this, when I'm parked on a slope with my e-brake on it doesn't seem to fully release right away. Meaning, when I disengage the e-brake I have to give it some gas or the car won't move. Although the e-brake light isn't on once I've released it. Then I'll hear and feel a "pop" noise from the rear end after which I'll be able to move my car.

I seem to have to tighten my rear lcas every 6 months or so. I even used thread locker the last time. Any tips on how to do this better? I can't get a torque wrench in there as I do this on jackstands. Anyone who's been down this road your advice & pictures would be MUCH appreciated!!

Wonder if your problem is similar to my Panhard mount
caving in, so that the pressure is applied to the ferrule
instead of the bushing material. Might pull the arms,
inspect the mounting ears for flatness and if they are
getting pushed in, pound them back to flat and use a
thick backing washer at least as large a diameter as the
bushing body.

If it's metal to metal then clunkage is to be expected.

Good advice. Looks like I'm taking the rear wheels off and
getting her up in the air again. Its more of a thin metal
sound though if that makes any sense. Maybe a heat
shield or something contacting my 98's steel gas tank??

There is no squeaking whatsover. I first noticed it when
I went over a speed bump (slowly) a week or so ago.

There is zero noise until I go over a bump or hit a dip
and it is almost certainly coming from the driver's side
rear area.

Default Loose rear struts/worn out hub or ?!

Ok, so last night I double checked my rear lcas. They were pretty tight but I snugged them up a little more. I banged underneath everywhere I could think with a rubber mallet. The exhaust was making a little bit of noise around the metal bracket pictured on the passenger rear side. I took some random pictures underneath.

I'm also now hearing an "old mattress spring" sound when my rear suspension compresses over dips. I have the SLP bilstein struts which were installed 6 months ago (on stock springs.) This sound has just recently appeared. There is also a very faint squeaking sound from my driver's side rear wheel area.

Bump stops are still in good shape on both sides.

Panhard bar is rusty but it looks OK..couldn't get it to make any noise.

Could this be from (a) loose struts (b) worn out hub?

I don't know if it even makes sense for it to be struts as there is zero noise on smooth
roads. No wandering or erratic handling.

I am running H&R hub centric 25mm rear spacers. I checked my wheel torque/spacer torque - both were good last night.

Help please!

So I just checked both of my upper rear strut mount bolts
and the driver's side was a little on the loose side. Not rattling
around or finger loose, but it had quite a few more turns in it
to snug it up particularly on the driver's side. The passenger side
was also a little loose..tightened that up as well.

We'll see if this is the cause of the noise or part of the noise.
