Before adding power, make sure your car can handle more power. Check for any leaks, flush all your fluids, get new plugs, wires, O2 sensors, filters...etc.
What are your plans for the car? Sooner you know what you want from it, the cheaper your build will get. Simply buying parts here and there without an overall build plan can get very expensive very fast...

Start off with intake and exhaust.
I'd do a lid, then headers and exhaust, then a LS6 intake.

More info than you will need in the stickies up above. Mods all depend on the condition of the vehicle, your intentions, and your budget.
Just a side note on the maintenance I did most of mine when I installed the headers and exhaust system. Easier to do the plugs,wires, AIR/EGR delete when doing the headers.
