Nice engine. Best of luck getting it in a 4th gen. - its huge. For tech info on the motor I'd start with www.zr1.net and/or www.corvetteactioncenter.com

i say it can be done. I've seen pictures of BBC in 4th gen. I'm sure it will take a lot of fabrication to get it done, but it will be cool. Post up some pictures and results when you're finished.

On a side note, and LS6 would be much easier and has almost the same power in stock form, and can probably be made to have more power a lot easier (don't know for sure on the aftermarket parts for the LT5, but i'm sure its limited and expensive)

One thing though, it will be unique

I hope you have a fat wallet for this project. The LT5 engine is badass in stock form but if you start modding you looking at HUGE $$$$$$$$$.I think LPE was selling 415 cube stroker LT5's for $40,000.00 complete.

You will be my hero if you get this done.

Good luck to you, you're probably the first to try this.

My main concern would be the height of the intake plenum. The LT1 is a good deal shorter than the LT5 and clearance under the cowl is already tight. I imagine that some form of custom intake could be fabbed and the engine could be made to sit lower in the chassis, but it would be big $$. Plus with all the **** under the plenum on the LT5's a low-profile intake is hardly a straightforward proposition. IMO, its a neat idea, but unless you have lots of time, money, and skill, it could turn into a chasing your tail exercise really quick.

About the closest thing I've ever seen is a Northstar transplant into a 4th Gen.

So what exactly is cheap when buying an LT5? I have never seen one cheaper (engine only) than $15k. If it was real cheap be careful. I owned one before and they are $$$$ to fix and find parts for. As for the transplant Chevrolet actually put one in a third gen back around '91 and hit the show circuit with it. The thing about a 4th gen that would concern me is how it would fit under the cowl. Those motors are very wide on top. Take some measurements in that area before going too far. If $$ are no problem then anything can be done. Good luck.

No idea. Why'd Shelby choose the Aurora V8 for the Series 1?

I couldn't agree more. One of the main reasons I sold my ZR-1 was the cost and limited availability of parts. Why someone would spend a bunch of money to put an LT5 into a 4th Gen (with the LS1 out there) is really beyond me unless its simply to do something unique.

well after seeing what everyone has posted, im now thinking about doing an ls1 into the 94, and picking up a 3rd gen for the lt5. the reason i was considering it was a buddy of mine has one for 1400 with a tranny. his dads a cop and he grabbed it fron a chop shop they hit and got paperwork for it too. it only has 30,000 on it so its a STEAL

How 'bout getting a hold of a 1st Gen Camaro and putting it in there? Now that would be cool!
