Hey seabass!!! On the intake, driver side fuel return port right at the coil connector, what did you end up doing? Mines hitting the coil. Any other little issues you have with it? Thanks for all the posts and photos! Im 60 % done with mine, just gotta get an ac bracket for the passenger side that will work with truck acc

I know this is an old post with the last update almost 3 years ago.. But I'm going through it right now and thought I would post my personal experience.
I'm running a 6.0L engine with a '04 GTO LS1 intake... I'm running the truck accessories. I tried bending the water neck on the water pump to clear the bell crank on the DBC throttle body but it completely separated before I had clearance. I then switched to the '07 water pump which has the water neck at a better angle.. Still-no dice. Had to grind on the water pump (aluminum part just below where the steel neck is pressed in) to gain the clearance that I needed. For those of you planning to use the later pump-you will still have to grind on it!
Also, no one covered this above... There is a vane on the underside of the throttle body at the 6 O'clock position on the throttle body that was hitting the water pump.. If you have the throttle body already bolted to the intake and you bolt the intake on as an assembly, you probably won't notice this.. However, in my case, I pulled the T/B off to grind on the water pump neck area to gain clearance for the bell crank, and then promptly found that the T/B would not bolt back on without grinding that "vane" away from the bottom of the T/B. I say grind, but I actually chucked it in my mill and removed it leaving a nice smooth finish. I will not be running engine coolant through my T/B so I also did away with the tubes there that allowed the hoses for hot engine coolant to pass through.
If anyone searches this, maybe it will help them out by letting them know what else needs to be checked, and addressed.
Cheers!

Idler pulley bolt
So I picked up my 5.3L off a 2000 Silverado with 99k at the yard for $450 this weekend and went straight to work, been reading alot on other forums about the parts imma need to convert over to make it work like ( 5th gen camaro pump, vette belt tensioner etc etc), theres so much info out there, but i thought id do it on my own..
Alot of people are saying that the ls1 intake will not fit correctly with truck accessories due to the idler pully position and the throttle body hitting the side of alternator bracket and the water neck in the way of the throttle.. so heres my little mods i did, and so far so good, hope this helps others..

So u can see the idler pulley in the way of throttle..

Heres where i cut:

Heres where it clears the water neck with alittle rubber hammer action:

Heres where i relocated the idler pulley, just spaces it out with washers and a pipe of pipe i had lying around from an old alternator braket i had lol:

Of course this is just a mock up, , still gonna get new water pump, belt pully, powder coat some stuff..also gonna tear down to paint the block, and clean it up real good..and updating my Cam maybe Z06 cam...Tell me what you guys think
