So it looks like the AC can be retained as it sits below the lower water neck with its own belt.

Default 5.3 inj rail

did you use the 5.3 truck injector rail on the ls1 intake. I understand the crossover tube is too high and will need to be changed

Kinda of a noob to all of this. But what would I need in addition to what you used in order to have AC on the lower passenger side of the block?

I know this is an old post with the last update almost 3 years ago.. But I'm going through it right now and thought I would post my personal experience.

I'm running a 6.0L engine with a '04 GTO LS1 intake... I'm running the truck accessories. I tried bending the water neck on the water pump to clear the bell crank on the DBC throttle body but it completely separated before I had clearance. I then switched to the '07 water pump which has the water neck at a better angle.. Still-no dice. Had to grind on the water pump (aluminum part just below where the steel neck is pressed in) to gain the clearance that I needed. For those of you planning to use the later pump-you will still have to grind on it!

Also, no one covered this above... There is a vane on the underside of the throttle body at the 6 O'clock position on the throttle body that was hitting the water pump.. If you have the throttle body already bolted to the intake and you bolt the intake on as an assembly, you probably won't notice this.. However, in my case, I pulled the T/B off to grind on the water pump neck area to gain clearance for the bell crank, and then promptly found that the T/B would not bolt back on without grinding that "vane" away from the bottom of the T/B. I say grind, but I actually chucked it in my mill and removed it leaving a nice smooth finish. I will not be running engine coolant through my T/B so I also did away with the tubes there that allowed the hoses for hot engine coolant to pass through.

If anyone searches this, maybe it will help them out by letting them know what else needs to be checked, and addressed.

Cheers!

I used the F body water pump and ICT billet spacers and it cleared up all these ankle biters...

Wonder why its not letting post pics!!??? N e one?
looks good! I know this is an old thread but until now I have not seen a tune for 5.3 with stock ls1 intake and fuel injectors. I’ve been searching the internet (gearhead-efi, all the ls1 sites) looking for tune/calibration for this combination. Do you have one that you can share? I don’t like the 5.3 stock tune seems sluggish, I’ve modified the ls1 tune seems running better but the idle in gear seems high. Runnjng 25-35mph in gear without pressing the pedal.

Default Idler pulley bolt

Alot of people are saying that the ls1 intake will not fit correctly with truck accessories due to the idler pully position and the throttle body hitting the side of alternator bracket and the water neck in the way of the throttle.. so heres my little mods i did, and so far so good, hope this helps others..
