Default installing a camshaft in 5.3 with 150,000 miles

I am planning on installing comp cam's 54-408-11 camshaft in my 2000 chevy 1500 for more bottom end torque. The engine is a 5.3 liter with 150,000 miles. I need more torque because the truck has larger 33 inch tires. I was wondering if I am shooting myself in the foot by installing a larger camshaft. I have also thrown around the idea of rebuilding the motor. What do you guys think?

It should be fine, but plan to install new springs, pushrods, and timing chain the very least. I would also do a new oil pump due to the mileage.

do all new valve train parts ,lifters ,rocker, arm bearings ,etc...what valve springs are you going to use ? you could do a 383 stroker motor ,using a 4" crank .
