The o-ring on the gasket is thicker than those scratches so you are probably fine. If you are super worried about it, you could apply a very thin film of RTV to the area surrounding the port then carefully wipe off whatever doesn't fill in the grooves you created. Let it dry for a little bit before you put the I take on and you shouldn't loose sleep over it.

Don't beat yourself up about it. That wouldn't even make my top 100 stupid things I've done to a motor list.

You did not ask a question; you just posted that you did something.

But, since I'm inferring you need advice, Mercier is right -- you're likely OK with new gaskets. I also like his idea with the RTV. I'd just apply it, fill, wipe like one would be doing drywall patching or the like. Everything should be perfectly fine from there.

LOL I just read OP post from your perspective. It did rather read as if he were bragging about the handiwork instead of actually asking for help. Hopefully he is OK. Maybe I'll pull a junk head out of the garage and show how straight and clean I can razor all of MY intake ports.

Just looked back at this thread yes, I didn't ask for any help. Sorry, that was stupid.

Thanks for the info guys, usually I'm better at this forum stuff.

Hey no problem. Forums are the place to go when you feel like you did something stupid...because we've all been there and done something even more stupid.

We got a good laugh at least.

How did it work out?

I got new gaskets but still don't have my old motor even out of my truck because its winter time and I have non-heated garage. Should be camming my LS soon and then bringing my truck home and starting work ha.

Understood. I had the Jeep ready to go to the exhaust shop for a week now and we had a fricken monsoon come through. But that's Louisiana weather. I'll get it back Friday and it'll be 20 degrees then as soon as I get a tune done for it it'll be 95 degrees again and I'll be back in there installing the A/C kit.
