Default 99 z28 vs. 00 z28 vs. 02 z28

I know that these cars are about the same except the 01-02 are suppose to have 310hp instead of 305. They also have a Z06 intake and a less aggressive cam than the 98-99. From what I have read the 01+ only have 5 more horsepower than the previous cars because had the more aggressive cams.

I think the 00 is different than the 98-99 and the 00-02 but not sure what the difference is.

My actual question is does the 01-02 only have 5 more hp or does it actually have more. Also are these the only differences in these cars and would there be a noticable difference in 1/4 mile times.

I may be wrong on some of the information correct me if so.

I do see a lot of information but so far most of what I stated and not yet anything on actual hp or 1/4 miles. Not that its not there i havent gotten to it yet.

I didnt know there was a search button utill you told me thanks. But it seems like everything I or anyone new ask you try and make them feel stupid. Sorry I just got into modding but a lot of people answer the questions asked and seem to want to help.

easy now, jrp is a good guy and has helped lots of us out including myself with advice and information.

As far as the numbers go Chevy underrated all the LS1's, that crap about them being "detuned" v/s the vettes is

I didnt say he wasnt a good guy or didnt help people out. He has helped me a lot already but he always acts as if the newbies are idiots. Granted he knows a lot about cars way more than I do but different people know different things.

Anyway,

JRP I looked at the differences and all the large stuff I stated was in there along w/ a lot of other things I didnt know. But My actual question was what is the actual hp not gm rated hp differences and 1/4 miles. Again I may have missed them in the information just let me know.

like rice eater stated there underrated, you can toss the 305, 310, 320, 325, 345 ratings out the window. most all ls1's dyno in the 290-310 RWHP range depending on year or tranny.

i've owned my ls1 for less then a year so its not like im an ls1 expert either, but you know how i got to know what i know. buy researching all of the great information posted by past and present members. searching and reading goes along way. and i say that since if you dont search you often miss great **** posted by members who might not see your particular thread. and if you research most of my posts you'll find them to be quite helpful

I probably didnt type in the right stuff tho. Again thanks for all the help tho.

no problem. typical 1/4 mile times are mid 13's with a 105-106 trap speed. a4's will net you a lower et while m6's will net you a higher trap speed.

some tips on using the search feature:

keep the words simple. ex. a guy yesterday was looking at how to run 11's. he said he search but couldnt find what he was looking for. i typed in 11's and searched the internal forum and found what he needed.

search in the particular forum your topic is. you'll get in the general ball park

information doesnt stop on page one. often you'll find what you need on page 3, 4 or 5. just have to keep reading.

Thanks for the information jrp! I tried things like stock 02 rwhp and 02 z28 vs. 00 z28. I quess I should broaden the search and i would get better results.

Seen stock 98's (mine dyno as low as 277) to my stock 00 (288) both autos to a stock 01 (326) with a 6 speed. Just depends on the car.
I also seen a Firehawk put down 310 stock and never ever trap over 105 or best 13.4. But my 317rwhp 98 run 12.5 @ 109.
