Default Diff in 98 and 01 Formula?

Can anyone run over the basic differences in a 98 and 01 formula firebird?
Thanks for the help.
Bryan.

The 01 has a LS6 intake, a 16.8 gallon fuel tank (the 98's is 15.5,) and no EGR system. It has a slightly smaller camshaft than the '98. The exhaust manifolds are better than the '98s.

The '98 has an actual working temp gauge, the '01s is more of a dummy gauge. The '98 has a smaller throttle body cam. The '98 doesn't have the infamous "black box." '98s also have a different PCM from the other years.

There's a small chance that the '01 might have a LS6 block, but chances are it doesn't. If it's a manual, the 01 has a Z06 clutch.

The cam isnt "smaller". It has increased overlap which has a similar effect as an EGR system. That is why there isnt one.

The "black box" is built into the air bag controller (BCM). It should be the same from 1998-2002.

Other differences:
* There were different colors available in different years.
* There were different option packages available in different years.
-- ex:
-- The 75th aniversary package was availble on 2001
-- Collector's Edition was avilable in 2002
-- 1998-2000: WS6 and Firehawk were both available on Formula and T/A
-- 2001-2002: WS6 was available on T/A only, Firehawk was available on both
* The interior color of 1998-2000 was Graphite (Dark Grey). The interior color of 2001-2000 was Ebony (black)
* The radio also changed.
-- ex:
-- 500 watt monsoon became the standard radio in Formula and T/A in 2001.
-- 1998-2000 CD player headunit cannot control the factor CD Changer or accept AUX input. (The Cassette player can)
-- 2000? CD Player headunit can control the factor CD Changer or one AUX input (this is a bit unclear, I'm not quite sure)
-- 2001-2002 CD player headunit can control the factor CD Changer and other (more than one) AUX inputs
* The available wheels also are different based on year

close.

1999 was the last year or graphite, where 2000 got ebony
the 1998 did not have the hawk option, but did have the ws6 option

The cam technically is smaller.

'98 F-bodies don't have the "black box".

From what I remember reading, somewhere around 35% of all 01 LS1 cars got the ls6 block. My 01 Formula had the LS6 block in the first motor, I then had it replaced under warranty and got a LS6 block again ( I checked the part number before it got installed in the car.)
