Starting engine without catchcan set up?

Starting engine without catchcan set up? Can I start my engine without a catch can routed in and just leaving the outlets untouched? I just finished swapping the motor and am in my final steps to start it. I wouldn't be leaving my garage, I don't even have a driveshaft, I just want to hear it hah. I'm sure some of you can relate.
