z28 vs. Mach 1
I ran a mach one tonight from a dig and being new to racing i got on it a little too much and left about a 40 black mark. Needless to say he got me by like 2 or more cars. My question is when i burnout is it suppose to leave one black mark or two? A guy that was there has a 99 trans am and he said his leaves 2 marks. Does he just have positive traction on his car or does he have the same limited slip that I do. Doesnt limited slip mean that it would only spin one tire?

i dont have traction control on my car. But my car came with 2.73s and the guy i bought it from put a rear end in it with 3.23s. Could it be that rear end had traction control and since i dont have the button its on all the time? Since i only had one mark what would be the problem?

Don't mean to get off of the subject here, but how far are you from Greenwood MS?

about 1:30 minutes. I have been there a few times a couple of years ago. I want to make it to greenville some time soon and run on the 1/4 track there. You know someone there?

About your question.. I hope you get your rear figured out.. you should just do a burnout to see if you smo

I read my last message and it didn't make sense.. I'm a bit tipsy..
As I was saying, just go outside and do a burnout. If you aren't smoking both tires.. Maybe the rear that was swapped in was out of a newer v6..
I hope that isn't the case..

ASR just modulates the brakes and throttle to gain traction, it really has nothing to do with the rear end of the car, except for slip sensors. Posi should burn em both, a worn posi may only light 1 though.

I just went out and tested a few things. First i spun in some rocks to see what happened and just the right tire spun.
Then i spun with the left tire in some mud and the right on rocks. Both the tires spun then.
Then realizing that with the weight on the right side the left spun also. I put 35lbs of pressure in the left and 18 in the right so that most of the weight would be on the right side still burning only the right.
Any help?

Me thinks your posi craped (or is crapping) itself. Both should spin if they both have equal surfaces.
Tire pressures that different will put more stress on the posi. If you're on street tires it probably won't help going down to 18 psi, matter of fact it may hurt. My best 60ft came on 30 psi with street tires.
