Default Ls1 performance mod budget

Hi, I have a 1998 Trans am automatic Trans all stock except a performance exhaust system. I've got a budget of around $500 to increase performance. What would be the best? Shift kit, cold air intake/air box, chip, etc? Please give me some suggestions, thanks!

The search function is your best friend

Plenty of free mods

Search ls1 free mods on Google.

500 won't give you much.

But first should be a lid. Headers/exhaust

Ls6 intake is 400or so
Cam is 250
243 Heads is 400
Shift kit is cheap but paying install is costly
Stall is 650+
Need suspension mods which is a couple thousand.

Just keep saving and do as much as possible at once.

Do cam heads and intake all at once. Need transmission and rear end built as well.

Ls1's don't use "chips". I would save a little more and get a lid and headers. After that it all depends on how far you want to mod.
