Guys, we're in trouble
I flip on the TV this morning and flip it to Spike TV. Horsepower TV is on and they are playing with a new cobra. 360 hp to the rear wheels. I'm thinkin okay... no big deal. HPP3 brought it up over 400 hp and a pulley change made that 427. They spent 250 on the pulley and 350 on the HPP3. 600 for 427 hp. I know that these cars are a little more expensive than ours, but it makes me long for a forged shortblock from the factory! Lets hope the cobra guys didn't see this

People have been doing those mods since the cars came out. They didnt need to see hp tv to figure out the limitations on their cars. However we arnt in as much trouble as you would think. Without a blower swap or nitrous they are pretty well limited when that eaton maxes out.

That show was a joke. No one in the Cobra community has even heard of a Hypertech programmer for '03/'04 Cobras. As with LS1's, it's probably a ricer-type mod. It's easy to make 427rwhp witOUT a pulley swap. Those guys are idiots IMO. It's just one big commercial.

I'm not going to put down the cobra, and certainly wont make any claims that I can do anything more than keep a stock one in sight at the present time. The same cobra can become incredibly fast with either a turbo swap or a blowzilla. However we can become just as fast for equal amounts of money. I'm not worried, I more welcome to stiff competition.

the 03 does not need serious boost to get to 450rwhp, dont kid yourself. they come built from the factory to handle just about anything the average modder can throw at it.

uh, you do know that the 450rwhp trex cam only has yet to be reproduced multiple times, was on a 6sp, full bolt ons, 10 bolt w/ 3.42's, and cutout open.

You don't have to be a fan to respect well built American muscle. Sure, the '03 Cobras aren't the most comfortable cars and they aren't the best quality...but no one can knock a factory built iron block with forged internals capable of holding 1000hp on a STOCK motor. Right?

But a Cobra with a pulley swap won't be affected at all. Give respect where respect is due. Those things make crazy amounts of power with not much effort, and there's no arguing it. Forged and supercharged V8 from the factory, what's not to like?

Cobras aren't running the same numbers LS1's are yet.
Weight + IRS is against them.
The power is DEFINATELY there though.
If I was getting a new car, it'd be an 04 cobra.
They are like supras. Hope you don't catch one on the highway
