t/a vs vt
Scott
I think the most significant difference is the weight advantage the vette has. It doesn't have an enormously better coefficient of drag (.29 vs .33 I believe). Anyone have the numbers for frontal area on a vette vs a TA?

or rather that the tranny mates right up to the differential.
To answer your question about the 350/360 T/A, that should be more than enough to handle a vette at any speed. Don't know that I'd call it "rape", but it should have no problems.

You should be able to take one...i can with the mods in my sig i raced one from a stop light.
Yes. I beat one at the track and all i have is lid, flowmaster muffler, and all the free mods. They are really not that much faster than T/A or Z28 stock from what I have seen at the track.
All C5s and C6s have a transaxle. The transmission and rear axle are one unit in the rear of the vehicle.
A drag coeficiant difference of .29 to .33 may not look huge on paper, buts it is noticable.
