Default Getting some squealing from front of engine..

If it's on thing it's another.. I just solved my smoking issue and installed the AMW catch can..

After my install of the catch can, I decided to take the car out for a drive..

Now I'm getting squealing from the front passenger side of the engine. It doesn't do it immediately. Took the car about 10 mins and then the squealing would start as the car is coming to a stop and the rpm's are falling.

The belt isn't frayed or anything. I don't know what it could be. It sounds like its coming from down near the ac..

Help..

i would assume your tensioner is on its way out...ask in the external section if you already havent...and you might get the anwser.

Man, I swear..

If I can get this car to run problem free for one week. I'd probably have a heartattack in disbelief..

I'd start with the belts - might be your AC belt. They're cheap and relatively easy to replace. If it squeals at idle try shooting some WD-40 on it. If that stops or lessens the noise then you can be pretty sure that's the problem.

How many miles on the car?

Car currently has 34k miles... Both belts were replaced at 28k.

The car doesn't squeal at idle. The squealing starts once the rpms begin to lower..

So I rev it, there's no noise, and then right at the top of the rev.. it squeals until the car is back to idle..

Yeah, that would probably eliminate belts as the problem unless the wrong size were put on there or something. Tensioner problems at that low of a mileage seems pretty odd. Does it sound at all like belt squeaking??

It's really hard to tell.. I was looking around and saw some little thin metal flakes down near the ac. The squealing is from that particular region.

I'm at a loss..

It sounds like your PCV system is completely blocked. So, it is building up alot of vacuum. You might see if you can remove the oil cap while it is running. Hold your hand over it and see if it is pulling a vacuum.

Double check the catchcan install.

I know this seems weird, but I had an experience like that when retrofitting an LS1 TB to a GTP. I forgot to put a breather on when I started the car, and I had installed an adapter plate for the TB. The plate block the normal PCV channel for the GTP.
