Default I need an air intake!!

Hey guys, I understand that an upgraded air intake is a great mod on the 98+ fbodies. the thing is, the cheapest ones i'm finding are 250$ clear to 550$ I was curious if anyone could point me to someone thats selling some cheaper, or a company thats great with deals. Definitely on a budget!

Which ones are you looking at exactly?

Are you looking for an intake manifold or the air lid? Cause most lids are like... 150 new. an ls6 intake manifold will run you probably 400-ish used. 250 would have me concerned about problems.

The LS6 is a great way to go money efficiency wise, but there is nothing but good things to say about FAST 92 with a matching throttle body.

Well, OK, price is something bad to say.

How much power would the fast 92 and matching throttle body add to stock engine?

Ported it'll give you a good 20 Rwhp over the LS6 and ported stock TB. I did mine w/ a mid pipe and LT's but all together I gained a good amount. A lot of guys like the LS6 but most only gain 5-10 hp from it.

On a stock engine a ported Fast 92 might not gain much, but on a highly modded setup I'd say 20 hp is very realistic over the LS6

Id beg to differ, those gains are pretty common. Videos is just an example, Info on car below video.

LS1 Fast 92 Swap Dyno - YouTube
If I'm reading it right, it says the before and after was on different dynos. And the guy goes on to say he believes more like 10-15 hp
