My Jet Hots with ORY and GMMG is just too loud on the interior. I got rearended a couple of days ago and took out what little stuff I had in my trunk area and my exhaust got much louder inside the car. This got me to thinking.... Has anyone tried Dynomat or other kinds of sound deadner to reduce the noise? Its obvious now that my interior noise is directly related to the trunk. What do you guys think?

Been thinking about doing this myself.......aleast before the headers go in got enough drone the way it is don't need more LOL.

I have installed sound deadener in a car before. I dont believe it was the dynomat brand. I and a friend installed it in a 87 mustang that had been modified to the point of being almost defening. The sound deadener which we applied to the entire interior of the car helped a ton. If you have the time and motivation, I completely reccomend it. It helps a lot, or atlest it did for us!

go to home depot and look for some stuff called "peel and seal", should be around the roofing section.. works just as well as dynomat for less $$

I fully plan on dyno matting my car one of these days. Not so much for the exhaust noise, but for the road noise. If you ever sit in a high $$ little pecker luxury car, the one thing that always strikes me is how little road noise there is. How cool would it be to have a $20K sports car that was a total bad ***, and yet refined inside!? The girls will love it, and if you want the sound of your beast back, simply roll down the windows! I think it's a great idea.

224 xe-r cam,long tube headers, ory pipe, and i pipe cut out ....
the cut out stays open .
the t-tops comeout anytime its not raining(or colder then 45) and i drive to and from work 40 miles everyday in a m6 car with a cartech clutch in traffic with 4.11 gears in a moser 9 inch on drag radials ..... and i do it with a grin from ear to ringing ear....

all you wanting to add weight to your car to make it ride like a lexus are wusses.....lol

I went and got some Frost King and put a layer on my trunk area. I used 2 rolls to cover one layer from the top of the back seat to the rear wall. It did tone it down quite a bit but not as much as I wanted it to. Is there something else that I may be able to add to this to make it a little more quiet?

get spay in insolation and fill any chassi hole you find...

Its rediculously loud in 1st - 4th gear. The radio doesnt help and you cannot have a convo with a passenger or talk on a cell. Cruising on the highway its not too bad but above 70 it starts getting really loud again. Dont get me wrong, I love the sound but its a bit much for daily driving.

I dynomatted my whole truck area because of my stereo but it did quiet the noise of the exhaust a little bit but not alot. Hope this helps

I put in quite a bit of the frost king stuff, it helped. Especially with my stereo. It doesnt rattle things as much. Im gonna apply more when I have the time.

www.fatmat.com i have looked on several audio boards and they recomend this stuff if you just want an affordable way to deaden your car. I looked into it and it will be like 130 bucks for all of the car and it will just increaase the weight by about 30 lbs. (if i remember correctly) I think for everyday driving i will give up 30 lbs.

The Frost King is one of the lightest weight of these type of products. Meaning.... it is the less dampening capable of them too. It works great on mostly bone stock cars where the driver wants to quiet down typical road noises. But it doesn't have enough mass to handle loud noise sources; such as a high powered aftermarket stereo, or loud aftermarket exhaust. If that is what one needs to make quiet; then the heavier and more expensive quieting products are better for that task.
