1998 Camaro LS1 and Gen IV 5.3 799heads
I am planning my build and need some advice from people who know. I can spend hours researching or just humbly ask for help from those who know.
I have a Gen IV aluminum block 5.3, DOD, with at least one collapsed lifter so I know it would at least need the DOD delete kit. Good part is that it has 799 heads on it.
I also just picked up a complete 1998 Camaro LS1 with everything including the harness and all accessories. This block I was told has a rod knock.
My question is what advice would you give as far as what combination of the two would be advised.
I could rebuild the LS1 and use most of it's parts but would it make sense to put on the 799 heads instead? Would the LS1 intake work on the cathedral port 799 heads?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I know there would be some issues being Gen III to Gen IV.
