Default 6.0 exhaust

I took a few pics of the current exhaust on my 6.0/lq9.

I don't know a lot about exhaust, I guess this would be called a Y pipe into a single muffler exit.

My question is, if I did away with the y pipe and ran duals with a single pipe and a dynomax bullet coming off each header dumped with turndowns, would that setup be louder or quieter than what I have currently?

Thanks.

I was told it was a purple thornie, I think they are a glasspack. It's quite a bit longer than the dynomax bullets I've used on other vehicles.

I've never ever heard of that muffler lol. With a good merge in the y-pipe and some good headers and catback there won't be much of a gain going to duals

lol it's actually flowtech purple hornie, instead of thornie. I wouldn't mind going to duals with the bullets if it would be a bit louder, but I guess it's hard to know.

If you want loud just add a cutout. That would be louder than any dual setup

Yeah, that would work. Is it better to go with a manual or electric type?

Well electric makes life way easier but of course that's up to you. For a street car I personally would only do an electric one

Looks like you've got more of a "T" merge on there than a "Y" -- that doesn't help flow.
