Security light trouble I have 98 trans am the security light is on car still starts n runs i did a vats bypass and my lights still on so i was curious and unplugged my vats and car still started im lost i have an annoying light on my dash and my dome lights stay on when car is on not sure if that has anything to do with security light hope someone can please direct me in the right path

Random thought ,, I haven't played with GM vats yet.. But my BMW's both turn on a security light on the cluster if its not the one coded to the ECU originally, they can be recoded but I haven't needed to chase it ..

My security light has been on for around 12 years, so I don't even see it anymore. If the cars starts fine and runs, just get used to it like I did.
The dome light is another issue ... perhaps your BCM is getting toasty, although that's not a typical symptom.
