Question To tune or not to tune first

Good afternoon all. I am new this site so sorry if this was posted in the wrong place or not. This might be a dumb question but i don't know it so i am going to ask it anyways. I will be installing some motor mods on and in to my 2002 camaro z28 and was wondering if i would be able to drive it around for a bit before it gets in for its tuned and dyno. The closest tuned and dyno shop is 3 hours away from me is why, and if so how long with out causing motor problems if so. Here is the list of parts that will be installed.

PRC stage 2.5 ported heads 59cc with dule valve springs
cam 230/236 .591"/.601" 112 LSA
Chromoly pushrods
fast 102 mm lsxr intake manifold
fast fuel rail kit
nick williams 102mm throttle body
100mm MAF mass air flow kit
42lbs injectors

thanks for your help!

you'll definitely need a tune after you install those parts before you head to the dyno. also a tune while you're on the dyno is a good idea.

idling would be somewhat of an issue untuned with that cam but the bigger issue I see driving w/o a tune are the injectors because the pcm won't be able to compensate for the larger injectors over the smaller stock and let's not forget the larger MAF, so it'd stumble and run really bad

Like mentioned above, you most definitely want a tune after those mods.

I've heard speed engineering thus far has had the best 'ease' of install, second to kooks I believe.
edit- you might as well replace the plugs and regap them accordingly while you swap the manifolds out, if you don't recall how long its been in there.

do I need to check the plug gap or do need to run a new gap size on my plug with those mods? And if so how do i find out what gap size to use

You can definitely drive it, just leave the stock injectors in. Swap them with the 42lb when you get there. Will you stall the car here and there...yes. But if its mostly highway driving it won't be a big issue. Obviously just baby it.

kooks and ARH both have very good fitment but are two of the more expensive brands. Regardlesss of what you get make sure you get 1 7/8" and not 1 3/4". You will be leaving a lot of power on the table with the smaller.

call texas speed, they will be able to tell you the compression ratio from your order.
