Sense I cant post on the ls1 gto thread page because of permissions or what have ya, I'll try here.

So guys I have a 5.7l ls that has been neglected I am rebuilding because of cracks in the coolant galley under the cylinder (5 in total) and have about 3k to spend on a new build, I want to build my self for the learning experience I havent rebuilt a car engine before but I work on all of my own vehicles and figure what better time than now! I've done many small racing engines for go kart and minibike drag racing so I know all of the basic procedures. anywho, I have a parts list so far that follows
5.3 ls iron block 3.89 bore (5.7 rotating assembly)
241 heads ported
ls1 ported intake
42lb/hr injectors
238/242 .600/.600 112+3
Pacesetter lts
Melling high flow oil pump
Rod bearing
Main bearing
And a hp tuner (I'd like to learn)
Looking to make 400whp
Just looking for some tips and tricks or more cost effective parts
