these guys know what they’re talking about man. I drift and the best skills are earned in the 100hp range. Same with people people that do wheel to wheel racing, they all start off in little miatas. It’s better to start off slow than to end up dead. If you think you’re truly skilled behind the wheel at your age, (unless you’ve been karting since you were 10) you can prolly learn a ton with tre power you got. I’d work on handling 1st. Then push your car to the max. Slower is cheaper too haha

im not too sure what you’re going for, but I’d rather have more weight in the front than in the back. (I’d prefer understeer over oversteer) because it’s easier to not spin out when you lose control of the car.
I personally have slightly wider tires in the front than in the rear because I need more traction in the front and I want to lose traction in the rear for drifting. I’ve actually never run staggered (skinny front wide rear) so maybe someone else can chime in. Safe bet sounds like same width in the front and back....

if you want to take off weight on the front end you should look into carbon fiber or fiberglass hood and fenders...... or you can tube out the front end which would save a bit of weight, prolly overkill though. Your car is very heavy from factory so depending on your goals you might consider this. Your engine is old technology and heavy.... you will dump tons of money into this car to make it light nimble and very fast, I’d maybe get a lighter newer used car (unless you’re married to this car which I understand). Or just eventually go all out and swap engine/tranny/get turbo, carbon fiber, tube out front end, strip interior to save weight, full suspension, limited slip diff, and Quality coilovers $1500+.
