Hehe...You can shift your car into whatever gear you want. That's one of the great things about having a manual transmission. CAGS was just an annoyance they called a gas saver...more like an engine lagger. It only has one function and that function is to wait until you hit a certain RPM level bla blah blah and be an annoyance. Other than that it does nothing.

At my last job I drove about a 77 mile round trip, through combined stop & go traffic & freeway. I got 23 to 24 mpg. Also I don't drive slow, but I do put it in 6th asap.

CAGS only activates under certain conditions. If any one of them are not met, then it is as if you don't have it at all. And yes, you can shift into any gear you want.

I know how to calculate it, he just didn't list how much fuel he used between fill ups.

I divide mine out on my cell phone every time I'm at the pump.

22-25 mpg every time, even racing plenty and WOT once or twice a day.

Yea I get around 20 mpg on my 99' A4 Z, but thats in suburbia where everyone else but me has a mini van or SUV and doesn't know how to drive, so there is traffic and accidents at every hour of the day.
