Default Spark Plug Wire stock metal sleeve

are these sleeves necessary?

the guy who changed my plugs and wires didn't put these metal sleeves back on to the wires?

not sure they are "necessary" but i think your guy was cutting corners not putting them back in. i believe they act like little heat shields. wait till your car is cool and put them in yourself..

Same here, got rid of mine when i changed my plugs and wires. You don't really need em.

zombie thread resurrection... will i be OK to not use all of these? I lost one and can't find it anywhere.

I didn't reuse them when I put my MSD wires on, you'll be fine

I dont see it being a huge issue if you dont use them. But I did choose to reuse mine when I put my new MSD wires on figured it was silly not to reuse them its just alittle extra protection for your wires

I agree with and did what shorty stated a while back with my msd Why not use them haha it takes another 2-3 seconds? At the same time if I lost some I wouldn't feel the need to replace, just added peace of mind I guess.

Those metal sleeves suck. I spend more time trying to get them off and have caused more issues then solved. You will not melt plug wires or boots, you are fine.

Having tried removing seezed on boots and the boots getting in the way it makes it the ultimate pain in the *** to deal with.

On my 2002 firebird I cannot seem to remove any of the plugs. Is the metal sleeve over them lock or something?

You need remove the wires before you try to remove the plugs.
