Default My first LS1 problem, need help.

The car has been great to me until today. When I started it after work it sounded like she wanted to stall. The idle went way low and then surged a bit. Now the idle keeps wanting to be around 500 rpm instead of the normal 700-750 range. I'm guessing its the alternator, but the volts read fine on the dash. 1999 Camaro M6 BTW. Any help would be great

try a new fuel filter... im guessing its something fuel related. Could maybe be an injector or fuel filter or something along those lines... maybe even the alternator but my guess is fuel filter!

is she throwin a code?? if so take her to autozone and get it scanned, come back and post it up.

otherwise here's a quick fix attempt.

disconnect your battery for 15 mins, hook it back up and fire her up. let her search for idle for a few mins, re-learn her tables, and shut her down. fire her up, and she should be much better. if not, then make sure your MAF and tb position sensor are all good to go. i had those go on me on my last ls1 and it idled like ****. just a thought. altho the sensors going bad would set a code i think.

32,000 miles. It's not the fuel filter I know that. I do have a Granajunky MAF and an LS1 EDIT. I (East Side) did the edit about 1 year ago, the MAF was on the car when I got it. I'll try the battery disconnect.

Check the battery. Could just be loose.

Could be the intake gasket too. My GTP did exactly that when the intake gasket leaked. Hopefully it's something much simpler.
