15 as stated was the long end. I said 10-15 for a 99, correct.
With other induction and exhaust mods its possible but I'd be happy
with 10 and I think its more than likely, if you wish to debate than go
ahead. Peak #'s also aren't that important either as my car is pampered.
The fact remains that for my situation its shorts or stock, period.

The terrain in Pittsburgh is one hill after another. Alot are steep,
my car is lowered, so it won't take an idiot to scrap.

Clearly those weren't official stats but do you think I paid big money
for Corsa without doing research. I haven't seen one single person with
muffler problems that wasn't running LT/ORY. Based on that I think I
know more on the subject than your speculation. And its not just scaping
but banging against other parts and noises that I don't want anymore of.

This is why I stated in post 1 that this isn't a LT debate. I KNOW THEY
GIVE HIGHER NUMBERS, I'm NOT A NEWBIE.

ok.
first,i'll start with your question. there are 3 answers,
1. this is not chrome at all but ceramic coating(looks very shiny) and it will last long and improve header performance.
2. it is dipped chrome (read ls1sounds responce again)
3. it is painted chrome (dont kid yourself most people cant tell the differance until its too late) if it is painted then in the 2mins the first time you start your car after install, there will be a hidiouse burning smell and black smoke pouring out of your engine bay.
you are left with black headers that need to be cleaned, and rust will start in a few short weeks...

happened to me about 8 years ago (before i knew what to look for)

now....
who the hell told you that shorties will net you 10-15 hp?
(please dont say the company selling them)
you will be lucky to see 5-7 hp
you could see that gain just honeing the manifolds you have on there now.

you know there is a third choice ...
mid lengths, which have been shown for real to put down 10-15 rwhp gains.
macs come with a race catted y pipe too.

No I would Never say the company said so, SLP claims 48hp with LTs.
Dyno graphs show gains across the board and really only get
totally doubled at peak. Which I already stated I rarely ever rev my
car up, it makes me fell guilty. There is a difference in an owner who
never plans on parting with his car as a guy who wants to show how fast
he is. I know your going to call BS but I've seen short w/cam dynos in the
375rwhp range. Like I said call BS but how much has anyone looked into it.

Yes Mids crossed my mind alot cause they won't bang or scrape as much
but they still require new cats/Y that need to be repositioned and cost nearly
the same to install. I don't know how it is where you guys are but for any
decent shop to install LT or mids is 6-800. Forget that.

With a catback, SSRA, lid, I still say I see another 10hp at least.
THAT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING CAUSE I'M NOT PUTTING ON LT"s
If you want to go ahead I wish you the best.

Its crazy how much I have to defend spending the money I earned on the
car I paid for. Thats why I wasn't going to say what the chrome coating
was going on in the first place. I mean I'd understand it if I posted I wanted
a 2 ft spoiler or some rice ****.

I never claimed to know everything. But I if you can't see by my
bemeanor I'm not the type to brag in my sig about having the bottom
end suspension parts or a lid made of carbon fiber, dude thats not netting
you anything more on a dyno, why'd you spend the extra cash over the other
lid. DOn't answer cause I could care less, you wanted it and thats great but
it goes against the agruement of dollars to HP which I still say if I can get 10 for
a total installed price of 400 is better than after buying all the stuff for LT and
the install of something I don't want anyway EVEN IF IT WERE THE SAME PRICE.
So you'll have more HP with LT's, I don't care. If that was all that concerned me
I would have bought a LT1 for a few grand and sunk 15K in the motor and been on
the cover of GMHTP.
"lol "

I asked about the coating. If you to didn't want argue why did you
go against the one thing I stated I didn't want to get into an arguement about.
I didn't ask one damn thing about performance.

OK Get the last word, I'm deleting the thread in the morning.
This is why the SLP board was the best. There wasn't all these freaking
cocky I'm gonna show you guys on it. But then again nearly all of those
types didn't even have an LS1 then or even know about it. Go burnout your
tires and STFU.

Were not newbies either. I've been reading these boards for years. Like the others said, no 10-15 hp from shorties. Buy em and pay someone to install em (which you could just do yourself and save $$) for whatever reason you want but we all disagree.
