Chrome headers
Is the chrome just for looks or does it function
to reduce heat and protect as well.
I got a dirt cheap offer on chrome BBK shorts.
Don't tell me LT's OK, I'm not buying them.

Based on what. I have a Corsa and another reason I won't get LTs
is that I'm not going to constantly be blowing out a $700 cat back to
gain 20-25hp when I can get 10-15 without the agravation.

Chrome is just for looks. If you want a functional coating, use ceramic or Jet Hot. Chrome also has the tendency to discolor from the heat, at least the chrome coating on the old MAC shorties that I had on my Mustang did, along with all of my friends with the same headers. They all did the same thing.
As far as blowing out the Corsa muffler, if LT's and an ORY will do it so will stock manifolds and an ORY. Shorty headers with the stock Y-pipe won't be worth hardly any power, especially on an '01-'02 and due to the discoloring issues with chrome I don't think it would be worth the money or effort to swap them just for looks. Personally, if I had to worry about my muffler being that fragile, I would own a different muffler.

Well 99% of the people with Corsa muffler problems run LT/ory
The difference on backpressure is what the problem is atributed to.
I bought the Corsa without the intentions of putting on LTs which
I still won't do.
As you can see my car is a 99.
I think is wild that people say the 10-15 gain from shortys in nothing.
Thats exactly the difference between shorts and LTs go if my gain is
considered nothing, the gain in the difference between the 2 styles is nothing.
Waste of money. Sure Flowtech and Pacesetters look cheap then add coating
cats, ypipe, and then double that for the install. Then watch them bang,
scrape, be off road only. To me thats not worth the extra 10-15hp.
You can say the same to me
just my 2 cents

This thread is making my head hurt.
#1 I doubt youll see 15 RWHP gain from shortie headers
#2 There are LTs that one bang against the ground unless you drive like an idiot
#3 Chrome is just for looks unless im seriously mistaken
