Default Track gains with cutout???

Does anyone think I will see any gains at the track with a cutout? I know it will free up some HP but will it be enough for a gain at the track.

Depending on your muffler you could see 1/10 to 3/10's. I think it's well worth the 35 bucks.

definitely the king of bang for the buck when it comes to exhaust mods. Expect 0.15 to 0.20 off your ET and 1-2 mph.

I have Flowmaster now and from what I've been hearing that is not the best flowing muffler.

With a 224 cammed car and a STOCK muffler:

Cutout Open: 381 hp
Cutout Closed: 354 hp

I'd say that's worth 3 mph and .3 at the track. I've never run back to back at the track. I've never wanted to "waste" a good run with the cutout closed!

0-60 with a G-Tech, with the cutout open it's a little slower on my stock exhaust A4. this was back to back test on the same stretch of road doing it 4 times. i guess on the topend is where the power increase is and more useful down the full 1/4.

That happened on my QTP. However, they used tiny screws instead of welds. I found matching size screws, loc-tite'd them and screwed them in really tight. Too tight, actually - one of the heads popped off. DOH! I just took it over to a welding shop and they tack welded it back on for like a $15 tip.

YES I HAVE!!! McCords are JUNK. "we bought a welder" they say ...well they neglect to metion they dont know how to use it!! I asked them why they changed and they said becasue it was stronger than the bolts- sorry the bolts do/did just fine. One one set their weld broke while i was playing with it off the car, honestly. Their customer service is very poo and you can almost never get ahold of them. When we did finally, theire response was" ok - sorry you dont like our product." and theire website says that they actually listen to their customers...LOL what a joke.

McCord powerplates are junk!

DMH has a nice piece, although more expensive. Try him first.

I just bought a http://www.streetpro.us/StreetStripPics.html cutout to replace the QTP because it was fluttering to badly. I'm very happy with it; the construction seems really durable. It's about $100 more, but the quality is apparent
