I helped a good friend of mine restore a 1984 911 that had been submerged up to the top of the driver seats. What a pain! He bought it for next to nothing. Must have been salt water because all the cylinder studs were broken from stress corrosion cracking. We rebuilt the engine, went through the tranny, replaced the computer under the passenger's seat. Had to replace the speedo and instruments because it had a water line across it that we couldn't get rid of. Also every plated steel part was really corroded, had to have it re-plated. He did this to make some money. I think he may have made $1000 in the end and then got sued when the guy couldn't sell it for more than he paid. And this was after my friend had told him and written in the bill of sale that it had been submerged. What a nightmare!!!

Trust me, as a used/salvage car buyer STAY AWAY FROM FLOOD DAMAGED CARS... not only will the title have damage on it, but you will never get the car completly right

Well I talked to the guy about it and I think it was in a pretty deep water. He said the car hadn't been started or anything and that the computer and things like that were probably bad so I am definitely not doing that.
I think I will just find a wrecked LS1 T56 Formula or Trans Am and yank the motor, tranny and interior and put in my 94 Z28. Have any idea were to find a wrecked one for a decent price? also what do you think would be a decent price for one?
