SS hood, needs special airlid?

SS hood, needs special airlid?
My SS still has the stock airlid in place. I was curious if I needed to purchase a SS specific airlid, or if it didn't matter.
Did a search, but didn't come up with much.

if my memory serves me correct (and i hope it does) only the lt1 SS's had a different style airbox from the z28. thats because the lt1 had a more realistic ram air than our interestingly routed 98+ hoods.

jrp is right about them coming with the same lid
(base - you could get the Blackwing lid as a $349
option as part of the 345HP SS package though).
The SS hood does leave less clearance from the
lid and some people find rubbing problems with
some aftermarket lids.
