Default cocky mustang owner- have some questions.

allright, i took my car to the track tonight, 13.0's (3 times) @ 104mph with nitto 555r's. i come back around my area and this mustang owner that i kind of know starts talking all this ****, he was pretty drunk also.

we raced already, he took me after 60mph pretty good (i'd have to estimate he was 2 cars ahead at the 1/4 mile) but we both had street tires and i launched really soft, he spun too. he has a 347 stroker setup, susposedly running like 13.3's @ 108mph or something of that nature.

he comes up to me talking like an *******, saying the last time we raced he wasn't even full throttle and talking all of this **** how he is gonna smoke me. he is putting on drag radials also to race me (i think he is a little scared). so now it is on- we are gonna race again, both with sticky tires.

now for my question: what can i do to ensure me winning. i know with my dsm i would either put in racegas or toulene/xylene and crank the boost. i also know that good driving and reaction time are key- but are there any dirty tricks (im concidering borrrowing a friend's dry nitrous kit with like a 75 shot, also running a mixture of 1/4 toulene 3/4 sunoco 94 but i'd rather not drill anything and the nitrous kit is not a definite thing).

i REALLY want to beat this ******. if i felt that i could have knocked him out i would have but he is like 6'2" and over 200lbs, also a marine- basically im not ******* with him like that, i just want to smoke him.

any help is appreciated. i also don't want to do any "obvious" modifications because he may bitch out and/or use that as an excuse if i win. it sucks too because i would start ripping things out of my car to reduce weight but that is pretty obvious imho.

Just swerve over in his lane when you launch to say hi and crowd him abit, that should make him let off a little, or if you want to win w/out getting your *** kicked, yea...use your buddys dry kit

HOW ABOUT A FRESH SET OF SPLITFIRE PLUGS, AND AN UNDER DRIVE PULLEY, OR 1.8 ROLLER ROCKERS. NONE OF THESE MODS ARE DECTIBLE AND WILL FREE UP HP. ALSO HOW ABOUT A SET OF NEW GEARS IN THE REAR END? SOUNDS LIKE U GOT A GOOD GRUDGE MATCH GOING ON.

Move the battery to the trunk take out the spare and jack.....do the free mods if you havent already, loosen your sway bar or take it off, I would say take your back seat out but he may see it.

Dont get shitfires, get NGK55r for all motor, NGK6 for NO2.

The caps lock is the key to the very left of the keyboard right below the tab. Press it one time......

If you have alittle time before your guys next race, then throw a set of 3.73's in the *** end.

Boosting octane won't do any good on a stock compression motor. It might even slow you down. Just use some good 93+ premium

He has a 347 and the best he can do is 13.3s???? Something is definitely wrong with that picture. I believe he is lying about his setup. In Houston we have guys/gals running 11s all day long on motor with 347s, with full weighted cars...

If what you say is true about his times, then the gears would be a good idea, BUT something tells me he is lying about his setup or his times!!!

Its hard to tell with 5.0's, he could be runnin restrictive iron heads with his 347, maybe the stock gear, the 13.3 may have been on street tires or untuned and maybe he is a bad driver?

he is going to arizona (he is stationed there i think) in a week so he won't be around for a couple of months.

i put in new ac delco plugs (stock) right when i bought the car.

i like some of these ideas like the swaybar and the battery in the trunk.

i think my gears are fine with my stall. this could be argued but i may not gain much from gears with my setup.

- i would only run higher octane with the dry shot for saftey. i realize without high compression or some timing advance i won't see any gains with race fuel/ high octane gas.

splitfires provide uneven spark.

If they were so good, they would be used in drag cars or high end super cars. They never are. Don't ever buy splitfires.

Splitfires are made by Autolites.

they are just expensive but aren't worse than other plugs.

1. Sticky tires
2. Cheap longtube headers (pacesetters?)
3. Cheap y pipe (pacesetter?)
4. Mild cam.. Tr220, Mti Stealth, yadda yadda.

^-- That would get you a very stealthy idle, as well as low 12's.. possibly high 11's with weight reduction.

One thing is for sure.. with sticky tires, remove the front swaybar.. That made nearly a tenth difference for me on et streets.

Peace,
Josh
