Default LS1 Differences??

Just curious with the exception of airbox, exhaust and tune, is there a difference between the LS1 in a Camaro/T/A and a Corvette?

Thanxs for the information.

An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1, the vettes and F-bodys are the same. the differances are between years, not car model. check the LS1 info link in JRP's sig.

That's not exactly true...

Corvettes have true dual exhaust, Independent rear suspension, electric throttle body, a different operating system, etc...

True, but then he did say "with the exception of airbox, exhaust and tune, is there a difference between the LS1 in a Camaro/T/A and a Corvette?" sorry i forgot about the -fly by wire- TB. other than that basicly the MOTORS are the same thing.

What about the cam?

Up until 2001 are the cam profiles were different. The F-bodies received a new cam profile in 01 which allowed removal of the EGR valve.

Yeah most people actually believe that the LS1 in the f body only makes 305 hp instead of the vette's 350 :banghead:

well i know the f-bodies are underated, and ive seen repeatedly dyno numbers between the 2 all the same. But had a person on another forum tell me they are totally different motors and in arguing with him, he wouldnt believe me, so i figured i'd turn to the experts.
