Default If I had to sell my LS1....

With the recent bouts Ive been having with this hawk of mine im starting to wonder if I should finaly give it up.

If you had to get rid of your F-body what would you get to replace it? Im thinking BMW M3 but for the $$$ im also thinking C5 Convertable.

I'm thinking, in another year, (when the new Z06s hit the street) there might be some good deals on '03/'04 Z06s. This will be what temps me. But I do love my Z28.

ditto on that one. when you start seeing a bunch of C6s rolling around and when the new Z06 gets out, i bet there will be really good deals on C5 Z06s. hold off a while and check that out. dont go BMW on us!

What problems are you having with your car?

If you're considering a BMW, why not consider the GTO? I think the GTO is as close to a "sporty" BMW as GM gets, especially for the price (right now 0% for 72 months!). If you don't like that, I'd go for a 02-04 Z06 for sure.

The year with 385 RWHP Z06 can be bought for dirt cheap since they have the "lesser" cam, but who keeps that in anyway? If you get a Z06, get one of those

I'd go for the C5 Vette. Z06 is going to be pricy, even after the new one's come out. Standard can be had at a steal though. Even now they aren't too bad. If I can't find my SOM M6 camaro hardtop, I'll probably go the C5 route.

I think Im just getting bored with the firehawk. Been driving an F-body for about 6 years now and I think its time to move on. Besides, Im already seeing that theres going to be problems getting parts in the future. Hell it took a month just to get a hood replacement.

My old man had a '00 C5 Convertable, and I LOVED that car. He sold two years later for a mustang. I havnt made up my mind yet. I'd like to get a BMW since its a bit more stylish, has more comfort items, and the engineering is top notch. However the I want to the power and speed so the M3 is the only way to go. But for the money I think I'd rather have a vette.

Definately not giving into the GTO. First of all I think it has no resemblence of the original. Second of all I think its pontiacs stab at the monte carlo on steroids ( a family sports car).

Look into the M3 that car has a lot of bad engine design problems... just a heads up before you buy the so-called perfect driving machine

Please give me some links! I'd love to show my friend who has hard ons for M3s

Also not to mention any of our cars will own an M3. My friend said he owned one in his Z28... I haven't found one that was willing to play yet

I'm telling you, if you are considering a BMW, you should at least just go drive the GTO. You'd be suprised when comparing it to a 3 series (which is what I also consider the M)

I myself have always wanted a used BMW M5. They are cabable of dipping into 11's with just sticky tires... STOCK! Some have pulled over 110 mph in the quarter, stock. That is amazing. Plus you get the heated steering wheel !! J/K
